Wålstedts Exhibition 2018
Exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Wålstedts Textilverkstad
2 November – 15 December, 2018
12.00 – 18.00 (closed on Mondays)
Wålstedts Textilverkstad is the oldest wool spinnery in Sweden. For the last 100 years, they have contributed to the rich handicraft tradition of Swedish weaving, knitting and embroidery.
Their small family business keeps the traditional hand-spinning technique alive. They keep their own sheep in Dala-Floda, where they continue to produce the finest quality yarn.
This exhibition celebrates the centenary with a display of their history and traditional yarn range, and by launching 17 bright new colours named Mikiko, made in collaboration with Yamanashi Hemslöjd – their agent and collaborator in Japan since 1976. Yarn will be available to buy in the gallery.
